A few years ago, I didn’t identify as white. I thought I am white, but I didn’t believe that my whiteness shapes my identity. I always identified as female and queer but also didn’t identify as middle class. I didn’t see how much my privilege of being a white, middle-class person actually makes me the person that I am. Why is that?
